Artist  Statement

​

私は主に油絵具を使用し、石や鉄、銅などの天然素材と混ぜ合わせることで、独特の色の味わいや表現を探求している。

絵を描く時、混ぜたそれらの素材が、絵に定着したりしなかったり、時間と共に色彩が変化したり、周りを浸食したりする。

それは、素材の中に化石となって含まれる動物や微生物などの昔の生き物がよみがえっているように感じ、その絵が生きているように見えてくる。

I primarily use oil paint, mixing it with natural materials such as stone, iron, and copper to explore unique expressions and qualities of color.

As I paint, these mixed materials may or may not become fixed in the painting. Over time, their colors may change, or they may erode the materials around them.

It feels as though ancient creatures, such as animals and microorganisms fossilized within these materials, are coming back to life. This makes the painting itself seem alive.
